Written by Agatha Christie, the longest running play in history was performed in special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd. The play is also known for its twist ending, which the audiences were traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre.
After the success of ‘And Then There Were None’, Kevin’s confidence level was quite high and he was ready to produce his second play. He also enjoyed the suspense and chills the previous production had given the audience. Hence, he was convinced to once again go along the Murder Mystery genre. This time, he decided to stage the longest running play of all time, ‘The Mousetrap’ by the same author, Agatha Christie.
Kevin opened the audition process for this production which brought in more talent. He assembled the same technical team for this production as well. ‘The Mousetrap’ was in a way Kevin’s graduation in theatre, because he was moving from the British School Auditorium to the Lionel Wendt stage. From the unique acting styles, to the original soundtrack composed by Hirushan which gave the creeps, to the brilliant stage crew who ensured it snowed on stage, the longest running play, ‘The Mousetrap’ was something the audiencesin Colombo eagerly awaited to witness at the beginning of 2015.
